Taking the Writ of Restitution of the Sheriff

Submitted by [user:field_first_name]

The Writ of Restitution is the document that orders the sheriff’s department to monitor or supervise the removal of your tenant from the property. You must wait 48 hours after judgment enters in your favor to obtain the Writ of Restitution from the court. You should then take it to the sheriff’s department in the same county where the property is located. Each sheriff’s department has its own policies and procedures. For more information on scheduling the move-out, the cost, and the necessary labor and materials call the sheriff’s department in the county where your property is located. And, read Colorado Revised Statutes § 13-40-122 for more information on Writs of Restitution (see below for the link to law).
