Summons and Compliant

Submitted by [user:field_first_name]

In order to start an eviction case against you, your landlord must file a Summons in Forcible Entry & Unlawful Detainer and a Compliant in Forcible Entry and Detainer with the court in the county where the rental property is located. After your landlord files the documents, he or she must have them along with a blank Answer form served on you.

Your first court date is on the first page of the Summons, and the Complaint should contain the landlord’s reasons for evicting you. Read both of the documents carefully. You must attend the court date on the Summons, or your landlord can request a default judgment against you.
