Who Sends the Record?
The District Court.
What is it?
- Detailed instructions (PDF)
- The Record on Appeal contains:
- The documents filed in the case,
- Any exhibits from the hearing/trial, and
- Any transcritps.
Why is this needed?
- An appellate court may not consider any new facts.
- It must rely solely on the facts that were presented to the District Court.
When will this happen?
- Within 63 Days of the Notice of Appeal.
- The Record will not be sent if:
- You failed to complete one of the steps in the checklist.
