Interrogatories in District Court
You can get information about a debtor’s assets through interrogatories. To learn more go to “First Steps to Collecting Your Judgment” in Instructions on How to Collect a Judgment and Completing a Writ of Garnishment (JDF 82) (link below).
For general rules see Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure – Execution and Proceedings Subsequent to Judgment (Rule 69) (link below.)
In District Court you may serve written interrogatories at any time after the entry of final judgment. (No pattern interrogatories available—JDF forms for County Court). Interrogatories must be personally served on a judgment debtor.
Once the interrogatories are personally served to the judgment debtor, file a Return of Service with the court.
Judgment debtor has 21 days to file his/her answers.
