Timing to Collect in District Court

You can collect 14 days after judgment is entered.

You have time to collect!  A judgment is good for 20 years from judgment date in District Court.  (Judgments can be revived if a Motion to Revive is made before the expiration date—See JDF 112.)  Motions to Revive must be personally served upon the judgment debtor.

What do I do after I get a judgment?  It is the judgment creditor’s responsibility to collect the judgment.  The Clerk and the Court DO NOT collect the judgment for him/her.  See JDF 82.
