Not Contesting a Judgment

This information is for Small Claims Court or County Court.

You can contact judgment creditor (or judgment creditor’s attorney) to ask whether they can work out some kind of agreement or payment plan.  They do not have to work something out with you and can collect the judgment as the law allows.

If you do not ask the court for a stay of execution of judgment, the judgment creditor can proceed immediately with collection.
